Kelsella

Kelsella — better known in person as Kelsey — is a Regional Queensland-based cosplayer and photographer whose creativity, character range, and energy have made her a standout force in both cosplay and convention spaces.

Her journey into the cosplay/ costuming world began in 2005 when her Father took her to see Rose (Doctor Who - Season 1 ep1) at a Radio hosted Cinema Screening where she dressed as the elegant and sophisticated Romana I. From there the love of costume took hold, from many Halloweens to her very 1st convention back in 2014, when she attended the very first Sugar City Con in Mackay. That event lit the spark — and from that moment, her love for conventions never left. With dreams to one day sit in Hall H at San Diego Comic Con. Over the years, she’s embraced every chance to dress up, even bringing cosplay into her everyday life by jumping at workplace opportunities to suit up for events like Halloween, where she’s known for going all‑out with character, makeup, and flair.

As her passion grew, so did her skills. She began her sewing journey by simply wanting to make cool clothes of her own, this then snowballed and quickly turned into discovering a new obsession: looking at costumes on screen and thinking, “I could make that.” That mindset transformed her craft, pushing her into building more complex outfits, experimenting with materials, and bringing screen‑accurate (and creatively reimagined) characters to life.

A master of transformation, she’s portrayed fan favourites across genres, including Classic Fizzarolli from Helluva Boss, her show‑stopping fusion BeetleFizz/FizzyJuice (Beetlejuice the Musical × Fizzarolli), Wednesday Addams, and both the 11th and 13th Doctors — with many more characters filling her ever‑growing cosplay lineup.

Beyond her dynamic character work, Kelsey is also an accomplished photographer, capturing the spirit of conventions, the artistry of fellow cosplayers, and the magic of fandom through her lens.
