CapriCon 2025 Cosplay Competition Winners on stage

Rockhampton’s premier pop culture convention, CapriCon, has wrapped up its 8th annual event, continuing its rise as a standout in Australia’s convention calendar. Held on Saturday, 30 August 2025, at the Rockhampton Showgrounds, the event drew thousands of pop culture fans from across Queensland and beyond.

This year’s CapriCon saw a record-breaking 7,435 attendees, marking a 16% increase from 2024. The event also welcomed 150 vendors, a 25% growth that reflects the expanding interest and support from the pop culture community.

CapriCon continues to be a flagship event for Rockhampton, drawing visitors from far and wide and delivering a significant boost to our local economy.

CapriCon 2025 featured an exciting lineup of guests, immersive experiences, and fan-favourite programming. Highlights included Disney guest Mitchell Hope, cosplay competitions, gaming tournaments, panels with authors and comic artists, plus the largest medieval village CapriCon has ever delivered.

The event’s success was driven by its inclusive and diverse programming.

CapriCon is built for fans, by fans. Whether you're into anime, gaming, comics, or cosplay, there’s something here for everyone.

We’re proud to see the event grow year after year and thrilled by the overwhelmingly positive feedback from attendees and vendors alike.

The Open Cosplay Competition drew 30 talented entrants, with 'Kim Cosplays' taking home the Top Cosplayer award for their stunning portrayal of Aelin Galathynius from Throne of Glass. The Kids Cosplay Parade saw over 60 young participants light up the stage with their favourite characters.
